He is survived by his daughter, Melanie Shields and grandson, David Shields. He is also survived by his brothers; Gary, Merrick and Barry Matherne, and a sister Cheryl Weber.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; George and Theo Mae St. Amant Matherne.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 8, 2011 from 9:00 am until 11:00 am at the H. C. Alexander Funeral Home in Norco. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 from the funeral home.
