Adeline "Addie" Peters Campbell, 102, passed away on May 28, 2026. Addie was born in Oakland, California to the late Juan G. and Maria DeLessa Pitta. Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 67 years, James G. Campbell. Addie was a member of the South Norfolk Moose Lodge for many years. Some of her favorite things to do were going antiquing, shopping, eating out, and spending time with her family. She always remembered everyone’s birthdays with some money in a Birthday Card.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her daughters, Rose Salmon (Mac Salmon) and Carole Smith (Jim Smith); 5 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and 10+ (one due in July) great-great-grandchildren and a host of other family and friends. The family would like to extend a special thank you for the care and consideration by the staff of Commonwealth Senior Living and Enlighten Hospice and their dedication to Addie.
The family invites friends to a graveside service for Addie on Tuesday, June 9, 2026 at 12 noon at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, 6309 E. Virginia Beach Blvd., Norfolk. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial donations be made to Healing, Hope & Harmony, Inc at www.medicineandmusic.org to continue "creating meaningful experiences that encourage physical health, emotional strength, and mental well-being" for the elderly.
