Many years ago, while Al was still working, I had bought "peat discs" to start my tomato seeds.  I placed the seeds and discs in a pie pan on the sink.  He came home while I was still outside.  He took a bite.  He said those are the worst cookies you have ever made!

Will never forget the day Al shot a 25 at turkey farm on a par 27 course, the first time on it.  Always had good times with Al when we got together.    
    Jake the wonder dog always threw a board under the mower when Al came for another pass with the mower.   
     We will be thinking  of all of you and will keep in touch.

I had the opportunity to know and work with Al at Seabat. I always enjoyed talking and working with him. So sorry to hear of his passing. My prayers will be with his wife and family. He will be missed.

I will unfortunately not be able to attend the memorial service due to work commitments, but I wanted to pass my condolences for your loss.  I worked with Al at SEABAT for over 10 years and always had the greatest respect for him.  When I was a young engineer, Al could have been dismissive, but instead, he always treated me with respect just like everyone else he worked with.  He was a great mentor, a gentleman and a fine engineer.  I will always have fond memories for Al and the time we spent working together.  In your time of sorrow, may you be comforted by the knowledge of the positive impact he had on so many people.

Al was a great fellow.  I worked for Al for several years at NAVSEACOMBAT and learned a tremendous amount from this very generous man.  I think of him often and will remember his family in my prayers.

Joan, I'm very sorry for your great loss.  Allen was a great man, always ready to help others.  We have missed him at the ACC on Saturday mornings for some time and will miss him even more now.  Rest assured, he is at peace.

I always smile when I think of Al.  He hired me back in April 1988.  Shortly afterwards I needed some assistance writing a Navy Message and I went to Al for advice.  He told me I was a GS-11 and I should go figure it out myself and I did!!!  Al made me a little smarter that day.  I know this is a goofy story but I was always grateful for all he did.  I never saw anyone else sell potatoes out of his pick-up at work.  Al, you were always okay by me and I'll remember you as long as I live.  Thanks my friend, rest in peace.
