Althea Fleming Hibbler

Althea “Phea or Price” Fleming Hibbler passed away peacefully on April 20, 2025, after being surrounded by family. Althea was born and raised in Liberty Park Housing Development in Norfolk Virginia. She was preceded by her parents Eiful and Virgie Fleming, brothers John David “JD” and Eiful Lewis Fleming and sister Virgie Dianne Fleming-Hampton. She is survived by her children, Ketina Fleming, Ketrina Fleming Potts (husband Dwyane Potts), Ronald Fleming, bonus son Kairee Johnson, sister Augustine Powell (husband Earl Powell), brother Anthony Fleming (wife Brenda Fleming), grandchildren Natajh, Tyrese, Allen, Brody Fleming, Danae Potts, and Jamiyah Lamb and as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

As a child Althea would spend her summers in Greensville, North Carolina with family. She attended and graduated from Booker T. Washington High in Norfolk. She worked at her father’s auto body shop called Shorty’s Body Shop for many years. In 1980, she took business courses at local business school, Careercom School of Business.

In 1993, Althea began her career as a teacher assistant at Norfolk Public Schools. She worked at various schools and spent most of her years at Berkeley Early Childhood Center. She enjoyed and loved her years there especially her students. She was loved by the staff, parents and students she came across during her time there.

Althea loved her family, planting, thrifting and arts and crafts. They all gave her joy!

Her love will always fill out hearts and memories, now and forevermore.

The family is inviting family and friends to pay respects Friday, May 2, 2025, from 10AM – 12PM at Woodlawn Funeral Home, located at 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd. Norfolk VA
