Alvah S. Manby Jr.

He was born to the late Alvah, Sr. and Lillian Manby. He was preceded in death by his brother Barry Manby; his loving wife of 60 years, Joyce Marie Taylor Manby; daughter Sharon Manby Bilsborough and brother in law John Foist.

Alvah served in the United States Navy and retired from the Norfolk Fire Department and junked part-time.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his granddaughter Stephanie Blount and husband Drayton; son in law Jim Bilsborough, bonus grandchildren, Stephi, Stephen, and Xander Curtis; sister in law Jeannette Foist; nephew John Jr. and wife Lori; sister in law Linda and husband Marvin Carawan; niece Shannon; nephew Bubba and son; faithful friend Leroy Wilson; and many cousins.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 from 6-8 p.m. at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd, Norfolk. A funeral service for Alvah will take place Thursday, September 21, 2023 at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home. Burial will take place at Riverside Memorial Park

located at 1000 East Indian River Rd, Norfolk, VA 23523.
