Born on July 11, 1938, in Jamaica, Queens, New York, Angelo was the eldest child of Antonio Anthony Riccio and Mary Constance (Scianna) Riccio. While still a young boy, his family settled in Virginia Beach, where he grew up helping his family build homes throughout the area and developed the strong work ethic that would define his life.
Angelo began a successful career with Sears before pursuing his entrepreneurial spirit. For decades, he owned and operated several businesses along the Virginia Beach oceanfront, most notably Beachland on Atlantic Avenue, where generations of locals and visitors alike stopped in to take home a piece of their beach vacation. Later, he turned his passion for sports into another successful venture, owning Memory Lane Sports, a favorite destination for sports memorabilia collectors throughout Hampton Roads.
More than any business success, Angelo will be remembered as a man who cherished his family. He loved gathering everyone around the table for good food, lively conversation, and plenty of laughter. Family traditions were the heartbeat of his life, and as the Riccio family's patriarch, he created memories and values that will continue to be passed down for generations.
When he wasn't spending time with family, Angelo enjoyed a good hand of poker and could happily sit for hours at a blackjack table when the cards were running hot. Whether around a card table or a dinner table, he simply loved being surrounded by the people who meant the most to him.
Angelo was preceded in death by his beloved wife of many years, Nancy Gayle Riccio; his parents, Antonio Anthony and Mary Constance Riccio; his brother-in-law, Bob Davis; and his stepson, Michael Riccio.
He is survived by his loving wife, Kim Riccio; his sons, Anthony Joseph Riccio, Angelo Paul Riccio Jr., and Anthony Thomas Riccio (Kristin); his stepdaughter, Denise Riccio Naylor(Harry)and stepson Nick Sala, his sisters, Marie Davis and Annette Tuttle (Keith); his brother, Anthony Riccio (Susan); and many cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives were enriched by his love.
