Arlene Williams

Arlene B. Williams, 71, passed away peacefully in Norfolk, VA on August 3, 2016. She was born in Pinetops, NC on June 20, 1945. After receiving her Associate’s Degree in 1986, Arlene worked for the Department of the Navy and retired after over 20 years of devoted service. Arlene was a member of Grace Baptist Temple in Chesapeake. A lover of bowling, Arlene was a Hall-of-Famer in the Tidewater Bowling Council and a member of the Women’s Bowling Association. Other memberships include Tidewater Quilter’s Guild, Inc. and the Kidney Foundation. Arlene was preceded in death by her mother, Lillie Battle; sisters, Doris Ellen Battle Moore and Lilly Delores Mayo and brother, William Henry Mitchell.

Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Andrea J. Williams; sisters, Mary Hazel Battle, Martha Lee Battle and Carolyn Faye Battle; brothers, James Arthur Mitchell, Ronnie Lee Mitchell and Charlie Ray Mitchell; dearest cousin, Teresa Parker and oldest and dearest friend, Ernestine Driver.
