

Armand Girouard, 81, passed away May 8, 2008 at a Sentara Nursing Center. He was the son of the late Arthur and Arzelia Girouard and is predeceased by his loving wife Mary Rusinko Girouard; two brothers, George and Eugene Girouard and two sisters, Jeannette Girouard and Rose Labombard. Armand dedicated 22 years of service to the United States Navy where he earned a Silver Star Good Conduct Medal. He served in both World War II and the Korean War and was stationed on the historical ship USS Wisconsin as well as the USS Ware. Armand also retired from the United States Postal Service after 22 years. He was a member of St Pius X Catholic Church for over 50 years and enjoyed hobbies of fishing and gardening. He was as devoted family man and friend.
Armand leaves to honor his memory, one son, Armand Girouard, Virginia Beach; three daughters, Darlene Mallett, New Hampshere, Kathleen Allen, Virginia Beach and Michele Walton and husband Marvin, Virginia Beach; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be held 10:00 AM, Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 7800 Halprin Drive, with Father Jun Balaroto officiating. Interment with full naval honors will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive guests on Monday, May 12 from 6:00-9:00 P.M. at Woodlawn Funeral Home and Crematory, 6329 E.
