

Audrey Howlett Bodner, 83, of Norfolk, went to be with the Lord on May 21st at her home with her family by her bedside. She was predeceased by her husband, John B. Bodner, Sr. She was born in Hopewell, Va. She was the daughter of the late Floyd and Mamie Howlett. She was retired from the Norfolk City School Board. She was a faithful member of Rock Church, Va. Beach, for the past 37 years.
Audrey was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and aunt. She was a friend to many, and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her two sons, John B. Bodner, Jr. (Norfolk) and James Bodner and Carol (Norfolk); sisters, Janet Howlett (Chesapeake) and Evelyn Wray (Norfolk); brothers, Franklin Howlett and Judy (Va Beach), Floyd Howlett and Mary Lee (Norfolk), and Phillip Howlett and Rose (Norfolk); Joy Bodner (Louisville, KY); special nieces, Debbie Ford and Mary Waters; special nephew, James Bodner, Jr.; four grandchildren, Baron, Demetria, Sarah, and James; five great grandchildren, Jared, the late James “Ryan” Shawver, Macy, Christian, J.T. and Madison; and two great great grandchildren, Easton and Joseph.
The family will receive friends on Friday, May 23, 2014 from 6 to 8 p.m at Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel where a Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, 10:30 a.m., officiated by Bishop Anne Gimenez and Rev.
