Obituary of Avelina Dela Cruz Santos
Avelina Dela Cruz Santos, affectionately known as Belen, passed to her rest on Sunday, May 24, 2020. She was 94. Belen was born on July 28, 1925 in the Philippines to the late Rosario Paguia and Ambrosio Dela Cruz. She was a devoted homemaker who loved singing, sewing, and cooking, and everybody loved her smile. Belen was a member of the Virginia Beach Seventh-Day Adventist Church. She is survived by her two daughter, Aida Santos Dela Cruz (Jerry) and Aravel Santos Oller (Rolando); her seven grandchildren, Paul Willander “Pee-Wee” Santos, John Christian “JC” Santos, Stephan Peter “Ren-Ren” Santos, Mark Bryan “Mac-Mac” Santos, Gilbert Oller, Ashley Oller, and Jonathan Ryan Dela Cruz; her two sisters, Nene Bautista and Imelda Manez; and her four brothers, Marcelo Dela Cruz, Robert Dela Cruz, Benjamin Dela Cruz, Larry Dela Cruz. She is preceded in rest by her husband, Arturo Santos; her son, Abel Santos, her mother, Rosario Paguia Dela Cruz; her father, Ambrosio Dela Cruz; her step-mother, Segunda Pangilinan Dela Cruz; her three sisters, Tacing Deyro, Celing Dela Cruz, Teresita Ducabo; and her two brothers, Godofredo Dela Cruz and Serafin Dela Cruz. The family will receive friends on May 29, 2020 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd, Norfolk, Virginia. Funeral Service will be held on May 30, 2020 at 10:00 am at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd, Norfolk, Virginia with interment to follow within the Woodlawn Memorial Gardens: Garden of Devotion. ***In accordance with current social distancing guidelines as outlined by Virginia Governor Ralph Northam's orders, Woodlawn Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens guests are asked to practice social distancing and facial covering guidelines. All guests are required to wear facial covering while attending services at our locations, and while maintaining the 6' social distancing guidelines. During visitations, guests will be limited to 10 persons at a time. During Funeral Services, guests will be limited to 50% capacity of the Woodlawn Funeral Home Chapel. For Graveside Services, guests are asked to still maintain the aforementioned social distancing and facial covering guidelines. All guests are required to provide their own facial coverings. These guidelines reflect the orders effective Friday, May 29th, 2020 and are subject to change upon the Virginia Governor's orders.***
