She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Thomas V. Lyvers of Chesapeake, VA: her sister, Frances Davis of Norfolk, VA; her daughter, Debi Cooper of Va Beach, VA; and two sons, Michael Mallard and his spouse, Beverly of Chesapeake, VA; and Keith Mallard of Va Beach, VA. She was also blessed with seven grandchildren, Robin Campbell, Kristyn Ludwig, Guy Kinney, Marcella Collins, Michael Keith Mallard, Amber Plumb, Shannon Daughtery and Alexander Mallard who, in turn blessed her with fourteen great grandchildren.
She worked at several jobs before retiring in 2002. Her favorite job was taking care of her husband, who also retired in 2014. Although struck by dementia and several other chronic diseases, she enjoyed spending time with her family. Her favorite hobbies were reading and bird watching and in her final days, the birds outside her window put on quite a show. We were all blessed to call her wife, sister, Mom, Grandmom and finally Gigi. She will be greatly missed.
Don’t think of her as gone away,
Her journeys just begun.
Life holds so many facets,
Earth is only one.
Just think of her as resting
From all the pain and all the tears,
In a place of warmth and comfort
Where there are no days or years.
I think she must be wishing
That we could know today
How nothing but our sadness
Can ever pass away.
Just think her as living
In the hearts of those she touched
For nothing loved is ever lost
And she was loved SO MUCH!
