Barbara Ann Marshall Chappell

Barbara Ann Marshall Chappell passed away June 21st in the comfort of her home in Chesapeake, Virginia. She was born in South Boston on April, 5th 1955 to Betty & Berry Marshall. She is survived by her loving parents and younger brother, Curtis Marshall.

Barbara graduated from Oscar Smith High School in 1973. She worked for the City of Chesapeake before marrying the love of her life, Danny Chappell, in September 1977. Her biggest joy was being a loving wife and mother to her two adoring children, Shawn Chappell & Jodi Chappell Mikulicic. She enjoyed tending to her beautiful flowers, serving the Lord, traveling, shopping, and spending time with her friends & family. She had such a wonderful sense of humor and was known for her vibrant laugh. It was unmistakable and will be remembered forever as she was so very special.

She raised her family and lived happily in Roanoke, VA for nearly 30 years before returning to Chesapeake. She was diagnosed with ALS in December 2015 and spent her last remaining time here on earth amongst her dearest loved ones. Her enduring strength and continued faith in God through her struggles was a true inspiration for those blessed enough to know her. The family would like to thank everyone for their continued love and support.

Barbara’s wishes were to be cremated. There will be a remembrance/memorial service at Woodlawn Funeral Home on Friday, June 30th at 6:00 pm. Barbara adored flowers & plants, and so if you wish to send an arrangement please send them to the location below.
