We worked with and have known Chuck for many years. Mostly during his Virginia Tractor days and when he worked at SPSA.  What a very special person.  Our prayers are with his entire family.  God Bless you all!

Gerri,   I just wanted to let you know that you are a big part of our life and that Chuck was also.  You and Chuck would listen to us in all the times that we need someone to talk to. sooo much i want to say ,,,,i don't know if you remember me geri, but i worked at spsa before chuck was hired; i remember meeting him, my 'new boss',  and how i thought, 'wow, this is gonna be great', and it was, for sooo many years.  chuck was the 'best'.  a boss and a friend.  y'all even watched  'kc', my son, when he was a baby so i could go out w/ my husband one night. i remember the house you had on providence road, w/ the pool in back yard, then you moved to hazel, where my brother 'larry', lives around the corner and has helped you w/ electrical situations.  chuck, you, and your family are in my prayers ,,,,god bless and help you through this.

My fondest memories of Chuck Ford I was 13 and asked advice on dating. He was sitting on his motorcycle drinking coffee and smoking a cigarette when I asked him "Chuck how do you get a girl to like you?" He slowly got off the motorcycle through out his cigarette and put down his coffee and slowly walked over to me ( like John Wayne). He looked around as if to check and make sure no one else was getting this secret advice and leaned over to me and said " My boy you find the girl, walk up to her, grab her by both ears and pull her to your lips and plant a big kiss on her lips. Then walk away, it works every time!" After much practice. I married the girl of my dreams. This is how chuck lived his life, with zest and made the most out of every moment.  While at Carter machinery with my father and I saw a field truck coming in like a galloping horse. I asked my dad what was wrong with the truck and dad just replied, "Nothing that's just uncle chuck having fun." I never had a bad time when I was around  Chuck. I know when I get to heaven he will be waiting for me to pick me up on a motorcycle and drive me through those pearly gates. May he rest in peace until that magical blessed moment that we are all together.                   Slice Jr.

I am so saddened by the new about Chuck.  I knew him for many years when I worked at SPSA.  He was a LOVELY sweet person.  He always hugged me, everytime he saw me!  Both of us were competitive when it came go buying scratch-off lottery tickets!  He was always a winner -- in more ways than one.  I am so very sorry for your loss.  Angie.

Pop made me feel like I had been a part of his family forever. Chuck accepted and treated my son Justin as a grandchild. Justin said he was on of the coolest men he ever met. Chuck brought my family in to his with open arms. I will miss those arms and hugs. I will miss our conversations always ending with "love you'.  Although he was really tired and had hung in there for so long, he sat on Easter Sunday in his office with each of his kids  alone. Justin too. I guess he needed to make sure that all of us would be okay without him. He needed to hear it from each of his boys. He needed to rest, but before he could leave us, he had to make sure all of his family would be okay without him. Pop.  I will miss you more than you or anyone will ever know.  I will cherish the times we shared, the talks we had, and persue the dreams and goals we discussed.  Pop you were a great man, a wonderful mentor, and an awesome father in law.  I will always cherish the last time we shared, and the last hug you gave me. I will miss you dearly.  You gave me a wonderful family. You gave me a wonderful husband, and when I look at Dav, I will see you. I thank you for you and all you gave me. I Love You. Wendy

I miss my dad so much that I feel like my heart is breaking. I knew that this day would come eventually but I never expected it to hurt so bad. I have always been "Daddy's little girl" and now daddy isn't here, I feel a little lost. I know that the rest of the family is just as lost as I am, we are all missing dad and all his crazy "habits"! I know that I am not unique in my pain. Dad, I miss you SO much!!

Chuck, you were more than just my father-in-law, you were my friend and I miss you already. Our world will never be the same without you in it.

Gerry sorry for your loss, chuck was a good man. Almost like a second dad growing up.  I wish you and the family the best.

Please accept my condolences. I knew him from working at SPSA at the main office. He was a great and funny guy. God Bless all of the family. I know you have many happy memories!!

I enjoyed working with "Chuckie" at Operations - always in the shop with his coffee mug on the heating unit!  He was so sweet and so good to his guys in the shop.  I extend my sympathy, support, prayers and love to you all.  May God comfort you in this time of grief and may God bless you all.

Chuck hired me for SPSA 22 years ago this month. He was the "BOSS" while he was here and even after he retired to alot of us. Things I remember after 20 years of working for him are: pop tarts, coffee in a mason jar cup, BC powders, flip top lighters, heater box outside in shop where he would sit when it was cold, Langley races, playing cards, his generous heart and his love for his family. I will miss him but I do have alot of good memories that will make me smile whenever I think of him.
