Charles Ralph Spencer

After graduation from Lane Technical High School, he enlisted in the U S Navy in 1941. During his 26 year career, he attained the rank of Master Chief having served during WWII and the Korean Conflict. He continued his career at Vitro Laboratories employed as a Test Analyst until his retirement in 1985.

Ralph was a faithful member at Chalice Christian Church. He enjoyed gardening , fishing, and watching the Bears and the Cubs. Ralph was also very helpful to his Diamond Springs neighbors during times of need.

Ralph was predeceased by his loving wife of 65 years, Gudrun Andersen Spencer. Left to cherish many memories are daughter, Carol S. Roane (Lester) of Perryville, MD; sons, Joel B. (Maura) of Richmond, VA and David R. (Margaret) of Suffolk, VA; grandchildren, Adrienne, Darin, Brandon, Brian, Jeffrey, Dana, Erik and 10 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, December 7th, Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd., Norfolk. A reception will follow at Chalice Christian Church, 5612 Haden Road
