Charles Gerald Weger

Charles Gerald Weger was born June 30, 1943 in Charlotte, NC. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
He served 20 years in the Navy and retired from ACU2 in 1980. He then went back to North Carolina where he was a drug & alcohol counselor. He moved back to Virginia Beach two years later and went to work for Jonathan Corp. as a shipping & receiving manager. He loved golf and played it just about every day, and with the help from the pro, James "Lefty" Barba, he had a 3 handicap.
He leaves behind his wife, Nancy Weger, of 57 years; three sons, William Weger, Chuck Weger, and Robert Weger; six grandchildren, CW2 William Christopher Weger, Ashley Cox, Jennifer Bayes, Casey Weger, Jonathan Katzmann, Brittni Weger, LCpl Nicholas Weger, and Tyler Weger; six great-grandchildren, Tamara Durbin, Ian Weger, Nathan Cox, Jordan Cox, Bo Bayes, and Elias Ellington; and two brothers, Ronnie Weger and Bobby Ballard.
The family will receive guests for a memorial service on Saturday, October 17, 2020 at 3pm at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd., Norfolk, VA 23502. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Wounded Warrior Project in honor of Charles.
