
Virginia Beach ~ Cheryl Scott Brown ended her long struggle with poor health on Thursday, July 5, 2007, and is now at peace. A native of Norfolk, and a graduate of Norview High School , she was the daughter of Warner H. Scott and the late Dorothy W. Scott. Cheryl is survived by her husband Charles F. (Pete) Brown and her daughter, Amber C. Brown of Norfolk. She is also survived by her father Warner, her sister Judith S. Bondi and husband, Robert; brother, Samuel G. Scott and wife, Terri; six nieces and nephews; a beloved aunt, Mildred Curling; and numerous cousins. Cheryl was known for her loving spirit and generous heart. She maintained a very positive and uplifting attitude through all of her ordeals. She loved giving gifts, especially to the children in the family, and never expected anything in return. Cheryl was very creative and was an accomplished needleworker. Her cross-stitch projects, as well as crocheted and knitted blankets, hats and lace were admired by all. She also taught these crafts to her nieces, who continue practicing them to this day. Cheryl took special delight in her daughter, Amber, and was extremely proud of her many academic and artistic accomplishments. A service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 7, 2007, in Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd. Interment to follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the home of Sam Scott after the service. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the American Diabetic Association.
