Claudia A. Cassidy

Norfolk – Claudia A. Cassidy, 73, passed away Nov. 21, 2011. Born in Norfolk on April 28, 1938, Claudia was the daughter of the late John and Mildred Wroten. She was a long-time parishioner of Christ the King Church. Claudia was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Affectionately known as “Mom”, she was dedicated, devoted, and generous to her family and friends and would always go out of her way to help others. Claudia was a loyal and dedicated manager at Greater Grinders for 25 years.

She is preceded in death by her brother, Johnny Wroten and sister, Nona Pritt.

Left to cherish her memory are her beloved husband of 57 years, Patrick Cassidy; children, Patty Mitchell (Lance), Mike Cassidy (Donna), Teresa Williams (Paul), Edward Cassidy II, Raymond Cassidy (Liz), Monica Pearce (Mitch), Christine Kemper (Keith), Joey Cassidy, and Coleen Cassidy; sisters, Shirley Jarvis and Diane Thatch; 17 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 26, 2011 at Christ the King Church. A funeral mass will begin at 2:00 p.m., celebrated by Father Charles Breindel.
