Born June 23, 1932 in Turbotville, PA to the late Chester W. and Kyutha (Smith) Kurtz. At the age of 19, he joined the Navy and married his wife of 53 years, Delores J. Wagner. He retired from the Navy after 23 years.
Clifton was a truly dedicated family man, and everything he did was for his family and made many sacrifices on behalf of them. He was a loving husband and cared for his wife through her final years. He was a great father having taught his two sons how to truly be men by showing and teaching them a strong work ethic, to be respectful of others, and to take care of their family no matter what it takes. Though he is gone, he lives on through the wisdom and the love he imparted to those closest to him. Clifton Howard Kurtz was a kind, loving and compassionate man and will desperately be missed.
He is survived by two sons, Gregg and Alan; grandsons, Paul, Scott and Matthew; granddaughters, Makenna Irene and Brooke Makenzie; great-grandaughter, Kaya Golden; and two brothers, Wilbur and Lester.
A graveside service with full naval military honors will be held 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 16, 2007 in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens with Rev. Ernest Trueblood officiating. Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 Virginia Beach Blvd, is handling the arrangements.
