Clinton Merle Coggins Jr.

It is with profound sadness that the family of Clinton “Clint” Merle Coggins, Jr. announce his sudden passing in his home in Norfolk, VA on Friday, the 2nd of January, 2026 at the age of 64. He was born in Norfolk, VA to his loving parents, Clinton “Merle” Coggins, Sr. and Diane R. Coggins of Va. Beach, now residing in FL.

Clint will lovingly be remembered by his parents, his brother, David B. Coggins of Hampton; his sister, Dana M. Hopper and brother-in-law, Thomas Hopper of Zephyrhills, FL; nieces Amber

Atcheson of Va. Beach and Hallie Hopper-Wood (Kyle) of Tampa, FL; nephew, Christian Hopper of Zephyrhills, FL, great nieces Alexa & Abby of Va. Beach; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins in VA, NC and NY that he had a special bond with along with other family members and friends.

Clint had several passions in his life, one being cooking, which explains why he became a chef and was last working at MJ’s Tavern in Norfolk,VA before he had to go out on medical disability. Clint’s other passions include dancing, seeing Broadway shows and musicals. His passions aside, Clint had a huge caring heart and was best known for being a great friend and being there for others.

Though Clint will be deeply and truly missed, his light; joy of family and friendship, strength and unconditional love and support will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of his family and friends.

A Memorial Gathering will be held Monday January 12, 2026 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Woodlawn Funeral Home 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd, Norfolk, VA. Please offer your fondest condolences to the family during this difficult time in their lives.
