Donald F. Seidel

Don was born in Milton, Pennsylvania on October 6, 1923 to the late Sue Pollock Seidel and Ralph B. Seidel. He was predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Elizabeth H. Seidel, three sisters and two brothers. Don is survived by one son, George W. Thomas and wife Alix of Mission Viejo, CA and two daughters, Donna S. Hopkins and husband Ronald and Linda S. Taylor and husband William Jones, all of Virginia Beach, VA. He also leaves to cherish his memory three grandchildren, Tina L. Hopkins (Mark) of Chesapeake, VA, George D. Thomas (Vanessa) or Birmingham, AL, and Chrystal Thomas of Cypress, CA. Also, six great-grandchildren: Victoria L. Hopkins of Virginia Beach, VA, Tyler and Vanessa Coronado of Chesapeake, VA, Alora and George S. Thomas of Birmingham, AL and Savannah Thomas of Cypress, CA. Don also has a sister, Jeanne Shuman of Williamsport, PA and a sister-in-law, Paula Curtis of Virginia Beach, VA. He also had many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.

Don was a proud Navy WWII veteran with many years of honorable service. After retiring from the Navy, he went to work for the Atlantic Division Naval Facilities Engineering Command in Norfolk, VA. He retired from there in December of 1986 with a combined total of 44 years of government service. Don was a member of the Fleet Reserve, Branch 60 in Norfolk, VA since 1974. He was also a Member-at-Large of the Masonic Lodge 365 of Ocean View in Norfolk, VA.

Don’s son, daughters, grand and great grandchildren will dearly miss him, always love him, and never forget him.
