September 25, 1957 – September 14, 2026
Donna J. Cannon, age 68, passed away on September 14, 2026. Born September 25, 1957, Donna lived with a steady devotion to the people she loved and a strength that carried others as much as it carried her. She was a woman whose loyalty ran deep, whose compassion was freely given, and whose presence—so cherished by many, will be profoundly missed. Donna resided in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
To know Donna was to know a life shaped by hard work and heart. She showed up, she followed through, and she made room for others often with a brave steadiness and a humor that could brighten even the heaviest day. Across the many communities and seasons of her life, Donna was beloved not only for what she did, but for the way she did it: with care, with grit, and with a spirit that never lost its sense of adventure.
Donna held many roles, each one lived fully: mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, partner, aunt, friend, protector, pool player, fishing partner, and a cherished part of her Bingo family. She could be counted on—faithful, compassionate, and unafraid to meet life head-on—while still making space for laughter and the kind of warmth that draws people in and keeps them close.
A Homegoing Service will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Oakgrove Baptist Church, 514 7th Ave, Troy, NY 12182. The service is open to everyone. Donna’s favorite color was blue, and those attending are invited to wear a shade of blue in her honor. A repast will follow the service, with additional details to be shared once finalized. For those unable to attend in person, the service will also be available via Zoom.
