Doran (Duke) E. Ford CPO (Ret.) born on October 1, 1927 in Rowlesburg West Virginia passed away peacefully in his home. “Duke” retired after 20 years in the Navy and also retired from the postal service. He was an avid golfer with the Virginia Beach Seniors Golf Club and bowler with The Little Creek Seniors League. Left to cherish in his memory are his wife of 55 years Barbara Ann Ford, son Robert Glenn Ford and his wife Deborah J. Ford, daughter; Constance Brown Mancini. He also leaves behind four much loved grandchildren, Derek Brown, Steven Ford, Shelly Ford, Miles Ford and one adored great granddaughter Averie Lynn Ford, one sister; Mae King of Maryland and a host of other family and friends. A funeral service with reception will be held on January 14, 2014 at 11:00am at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd, Norfolk Virginia 23502 the burial follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens with full military honors accorded at the grave.
