Dorothy Archer Drew passed away at her home in Virginia Beach, VA on July 9, 2017. Born June 15, 1934 in Winton, NC she was the daughter of the late Frank Archer and Jennie B. Archer. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Celestine Mitchell and Susan Pierce; and two brother-in-laws, William Mitchell and Sheldon Simmons.
She is survived by her loving husband of 35 years Dwight C. Drew; three children, Lisa Mann (Darrell) of VA, Richard Reid, II (Charlene) of NC, and Angela Conlon (Randy) of Maryland; 13 Grandchildren; 29 Great-Grandchildren; a sister, Frances Simmons of AZ; a brother-in-law, Leroy Pierce of NC; a devoted niece, Toni Manning (Ira) of VA; and several nieces and nephews.
The family, at the request of Dorothy, held a private graveside service at Woodlawn Cemetery in Norfolk, VA on Saturday, July 15, 2017. The family wishes to extend a special “thank you” to Freda H. Gordon Hospice & Palliative Care of Tidewater for the excellent care provided to our loved one and the support given to the family.
