Dorothy “Dot” Nixon, 83, passed away on Tuesday at Sentara Leigh Hospital. She was predeceased by her husband Jay. She is survived by her loving daughters Judy Mumma (Ed) and Beth Hazelette (John); grandson, Evan Mumma and step-grandchildren, J.T. Hazelette (Olivia) and Kelly Hazelette. Dot retired from Bank of America and she actively volunteered her services for Depaul Hospital, Virginia Beach Public Library, and Haygood United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends for a visitation 7-9pm on Thursday, May 10th in Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd., Norfolk and where funeral services will be conducted on Friday, May 11th at 1pm by Pastor Tag Kilgore. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Web of Life Animal Outreach Inc. and the American Cancer Society.
