Nena is predeceased by her mother Mignon Woods, her father Darnley Graham Rawlins, brothers Herbert Rawlins, Raymond "Ralphie" Donawa, and Herman "Mickey" Blackman. She is survived by her husband of 61 years Dimas Clemente Cortez; daughters Maritza Phillips, Tirza Cortez, Dilcia Salazar and her husband Antonio, Neisa Richards and her husband Enrico, and Elia Cortez; sons Clemente Cortez and his wife Sandra, Ruben Cortez and his wife Melida, and Dionicio Cortez (Meshullam) and his wife Denise "Leah"; 27 grandchildren, 62 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and in laws.
A visitation will be held from 10 am to 12 pm Saturday, July 9, 2011 in Woodlawn Funeral Home Chapel, 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd. Norfolk and where services will follow immediately after. .
