Ray and I are praying for all of the Boone family.  Anne, your love for "your Ronnie" as you say, was so beautiful and Ronnie adored you and his family. The love you two had for each other was amazing.  I was so blessed to give Ronnie his first grandchild, Krystina, with Mickey.  Krystina loved being with her Dad and the Boone family.  I can only imagine the reunion Mickey, Krystina, and other loved ones had when Ronnie entered Heaven.  One day we will all be together again. Until then, watch over us and kiss Mickey and Krystina for me.  See you on the other side one day.

I will always remember how Ronnie allowed me to start my police career as an auxiliary police officer in 1973. He allowed me to work patrol and vice and narcotics. I willingly donated about 1,000 hours a year serving under his leadership. It was that taste of law enforcement that set me on a career with the Suffolk Police Department in 1977. Policing in an urban environment like Portsmouth put me in good stead in the rural City of Suffolk. I willingly donated about 1,000 hours a year for four years of service at PPD. I will never forget the chance he took on me and how he helped forge my successful career in Suffolk. RIP Chief.

Anne,  I was so sorry to hear about the passing of Ronnie.  You guys were the best neighbors when I was growing up.  So many hours of you entrusting me with your children and hanging out with your family.  Mom and Dad thought a lot of you and Ronnie and the boys. Rip chief, you were the best chief Portsmouth ever had. You came up thru the ranks but it never changed the way you were. You trained the best of the best when our city was respected for its law enforcement. Because of you. Thank you for being my friend, you were always missed, even more now. My first memories of Mr. Boone is when my dad had been on a work trip for the police dept. Dad, Ronald Steve St.Clair, told us he was nicknamed Steakbone by   Mr. Boone because he only wanted to eat steak when they were at dinner on that trip! And  many people from then on knew him by that nickname and he was proud of it!! My condolences to all of you!! Our families go way back in friendship.. I may not see y’all in person but think of ya’ll often!! Such great memories hanging out together as we grew up together. Always had great respect for Mr. Boone. He had the respect and loyalty from his officers when he was chief. May God bless and keep the family. May you all find strength and peace in this time of sorrow!

Ronnie is a member of our church. We love him so much, him and Ann they are our Church family. He is going to be so deeply missed .
He was A Great Man and we're going to miss seeing him in Sunday Services. I'm thankful he was a Christian man we will see each other again my friend . With all our Love, the Freeman's.

I met Ronnie when I was first hired at the Portsmouth Police Department, I watched him  as he continued his journey  throughout many years and finally progressed to Chief of Police.  We remained friends all throughout his beautiful life.  I offer my sympathy to Ann, she has been such a supportive wife to Ronnie and she and I are friends on facebook.  Ronnie was one of the best Chiefs that the City of Portsmouth ever had.  rest in peace Chief, fly high with the angels of God to your eternal home.

I was very lucky growing up, the Boone family lived within four blocks of each other and alot of my time as a kid was at Anne and Ronnie‘s house. Ronnie could be very intimidating as an uncle, but he always had a smile and a hug for me. One of my best memories was when I got my learners and he told me stop meant Sneak  Through On Purpose. Yes, I have been pulled for running stop signs. :)   As adult I thoroughly enjoyed my trips with the two of you and other times we have been together at the river.
