Elizabeth "Betty" P. Orr

Elizabeth “Betty” P. Orr, 72, passed away on June 19, 2016. Betty was born in Newfoundland, Canada to the late William and Mahala Young. She was preceded in death by her loving husband and soulmate of 23 years Adloe Orr III and her sister Marilyn Ellis.

Betty dedicated 30 years to working loss prevention in the retail industry. She had a giving spirit and was a “mother” and “grandmother” to many. She will be remembered for her quick wit, sense of humor and generosity. Betty was the matriarch of the family which she loved dearly.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Bonnie Herring (Bruce); son, William Robert “Rob” Keppler Jr. of Athens, GA and granddaughter Ashley Herring who was the light of her life; four brothers, Derrick Young (Joan), Charlie Young (Grace), Keith Young (Sadie) and Perry Young (Cynthia); two sisters, Doreen Walsh (Gary) and Lorraine Connors (Tim); and many other loving family members from Canada.

A memorial service will be held at 1pm, Saturday, June 25th at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salvation Army, https://give.salvationarmyusa.org or the American Cancer Society ,https://donate.cancer.org
