Elizabeth Shay Ward, “Betty” as she liked to be called, passed away in her sleep on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at Sentara Nursing Center. She was 98 years young. Betty was predeceased by her loving husband of over 65 years, Russell Ashley Ward, Sr. She is survived by her son, Russell A. Ward, Jr. and his wife, Sally A. of Valrico, Florida; daughter, Mary Ann Ward of Virginia Beach; and her son, Brett Carlton Levack of Elmira, N.Y.; granddaughter, Ashley Ward Noble and her husband, Shane Noble of Orlando, Florida.
The family would like to thank the nursing staff of Sentara Rosemont and Grace Hospice for all their loving care. Betty is now in heaven with all the Angels and Saints in the arms of the Lord.
A funeral service will be held Friday, November 4, 2016 at 11:00 am at Woodlawn Funeral Home Chapel, 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd., Norfolk, Virginia 23502. Interment will be at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in the Good Shepherd Mausoleum.
