

Elsie went home to be with the Lord on December 26, 2008. She was born August 17, 1936 in Oak City, North Carolina to the late Booker T. and Annie Sue Baker. She graduated from West Martin High School in 1955 and later attended Norfolk State University. She then United in Holy Matrimony with Nathaniel Langston on August 15, 1958 in Norfolk, VA. She was a member of the New Hope Church of God in Christ with the late Bishop Herman Clark, Sr. being her pastor. She later became a missionary and a member of the Senior choir. She was employed by the Navy Exchange for many years where she also retired. With the desire to pray for others she developed a prayer warrior phone line with others. She leaves to cherish her memories her loving husband Elder Nathaniel Langston, (3) sons; Nathaniel M. Langston (Dawn), Malcolm D. Langston and Terrance D. Langston. (3) brothers; Benjamin Baker (Grace), Ben Baker (Elsie) and Bishop Columbus Baker (Corrie). (2) Sisters; Christine Reid and Brenda Johnson (George). (5) grandchildren, (6) great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was also predeceased by (4) brothers and (1) sister, William Baker, Clarence Baker, Willie Baker, Earl Baker and Roberta Parker. Friends and Family are welcome for an open viewing during the hours of 8:30-5:30 at Woodlawn Funeral Home. Homegoing services will be held January 3, 2008 at 12:00 Noon at New Bethel COGIC, 4700 Little John Road, Norfolk, VA. Elder Timothy E. Wright, Sr. officiating. Woodlawn Funeral Home 6329 E.
