Born in Paoay, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, Erlinda carried the warmth and resilience of her heritage throughout her life. She dedicated her professional career to the service of others, working as a compassionate Registered Nurse with Sentara Leigh until her well-earned retirement.
Beyond her professional life, Erlinda was a pillar of her community. She was an active and cherished member of UIAT and the Fil-Am Community Action Group (FIL-AM CAG), where she contributed her time and spirit to fostering connection and support among her fellow community members as the primary organizer of their fundraiser bus tour trips. These trips funded grant scholarships to support well-deserving Filipino-American students in Hampton Roads.
Erlinda found great joy in the beauty of the world around her. She was an avid traveler, taking cruises around the world with her adoring husband and always eager to explore new horizons, and she possessed a remarkable talent for collecting and cultivating orchids, which bloomed under her gentle care just as her kindness touched those around her.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Nonato (Nony) Abrajano; her loving daughters, Rachel Beattie (husband, Rob Beattie), Eleanor Larson (husband, Mike Larson), Jennifer Barredo (husband, Ron Barredo), her 8 precious grandchildren (Abigail, Grace, Violet, Claire, Alex, James, Isabella & Vivian), and her beloved brothers (Prudencio, Dennis, & Adriano Jr). Her legacy of love, service, and grace will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and the many lives she touched.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026 and Sunday, April 12, 2026 between 5 - 8 PM at the Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd., Norfolk. A service to celebrate her life will be held on Monday, April 13, 2026 at 11 AM at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, 3314 Sandra Lane, Virginia Beach. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the FIL-AM CAG Leadership & Service Scholarship (www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=8GT7AGNZHX6TG) in Erlinda's memory.
