Esther Marie Galvin

VIRGINIA BEACH Esther M. Galvin, just shy of 80 years, passed peacefully on June 17, 2011 in the company of her loving family. She was predeceased by her parents John and Regina, her brothers John and Art, her oldest daughter Donna, and her husband Robert. She is survived by her brother Tony; her daughters, Deborah and her husband Ray of Alexandria, VA.; Dawn, and Daphne and her husband Cary, all of Va. Beach. In addition, she has nine surviving grandchildren.

During her youth, she attended Girls Catholic Central in Detroit, MI. She married her high school sweetheart Robert, and they were together for 54 years. In addition to being a devoted wife and mother, she worked as a banker and retired from First Virginia Bank after 20 years. Her hobbies included reading, going to the theater, and enjoying day trips with her friends.

A funeral mass will be held at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church, at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 21st followed by a graveside service and reception at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, 6309 Virginia Beach Blvd., Norfolk, VA. Condolences may be offered to the family online at www.woodlawngroup.com.
