

Feretisa Pitoau Chiguina, 73, passed away on February 5, 2024, at Sentara Princess Anne Hospital in Virginia Beach, VA. Feretisa was born on March 7, 1950, in the village of Utulei, Samoa. She was preceded in death by her parents, Aoese and Akesa Pitoau, her in-laws Jesus and Guadalupe Chiguina, her husband of 46 years Benny Chiguina, her sisters Aliitasi and Luisa, brother Koroseta (Ruta), brothers-in-law baby Charlie, Charlie, and Daniel (Joyce). Feretisa was a devout Catholic who had an unwavering devotion to the Lord. Feretisa loved her Samoan traditions, especially the dances and the food. Her passion was gardening and baking. Her favorite flower was the hibiscus. If she could plant in snow, she would. She retired as a School Aide from the Guam Department of Education.
Feretisa leaves behind her sisters Faalelei Faumuina (Jerome), Sivaifale Victor (Pesamino), Situa Dziadowlski (Joe), her brothers-in-law David (Ann) and Jesse (Myrna), sisters-in-law Mary (Andy) and Emily, her children Ronnie (Michelle), Danny, Benny (Anabelle), Billy, Christy (William), Guadalupe (Lajshon), and Akesa (Jontue), her grandchildren and great-grandchildren Madrell (Hevin), Jadine (Mark), Christian, Marissa (AJ), Dominic (Jayna), Jessalynn (Blaine), Donovan, Jerika, Jovon, Devin, Benny Jr., A’veayah, Charlie, Kahllyah (Justin), Treyunni, Kadryn, Treyton, Gabrielle, Chehala, Zhoe, Christina, Kaden Jude, Zelden, Tiana, Giovanni, Savannah, Jeziah, Liam, Yemaya, Matua, Elijah, and Taliyah Tisa.
The family will receive friends and family at Guam Memorial Funeral Home, 191 Bibic St, Barrigada, Guam on Thursday, February 22, 2024 from 9 a.m. - 12 noon for a time of visitation. Feretisa will be laid to rest beside her husband at Guam Veterans Cemetery, 150 Spruance Drive, Piti, at a graveside service beginning at 1 p.m. following the visitation.
