Floyd T. Jones

Floyd T. Jones, 85, went to be with the Lord and his beloved wife on July 31, 2013. He was predeceased by his wife Ruth S. Jones and son-in-law Thomas R. McGrath. Born in Sparta, Tennessee he was the son of Clayton H. and Velma L. Jones. He retired from the U.S. Navy as a Chief Petty Officer in 1964 and then became a real estate broker for Floyd Jones Realty.

He is survived by his four children, Linda McGrath of Statesville N.C., Gerald Jones and his wife Michelle of Jacksonville, FL., Dale Jones of Chesapeake, VA., and Jeanie Harris and her husband Jack of Chesapeake., VA. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Chris Barnes, Brian McGrath, Melissa Ellis, Jack Harris III, and Joseph Harris and seven great-grandchildren, Stephanie, Samantha, and Sabrina Ellis, Cody and Brady Barnes, Anna and Caroline McGrath.

Visitation will be Sunday, August 4, 2013 from 5-8PM and funeral services Monday, August 5, 2013 at 11AM. All services will be handled by Woodlawn Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens. 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd. Norfolk VA 23502. Condolences may be left for the family at www.woodlawngroup.com.
