

Gail T. Maxson was born April 16, 1955 to the union of the late Roscoe Cotton, Jr. and Mericher Janie Cotton (Howell) in Norfolk, Virginia. Gail was called “Sparkle” by her friends and family. She transitioned from this earthly life and went to be with the Lord on September 17, 2026 surrounded by her family.
Gail graduated from Granby High School, attended Norfolk State University for two years and graduated as a Master Aesthetician. She worked as a Flight Attendant for thirteen years with Eastern Airlines. She completed her career as an Aesthetician for a plastic surgeon in Virginia Beach. Throughout her career she earned the deep respect and admiration of those who sought her professional services.
Gail grew up as a Baptist Christian in St. Mark’s Baptist Church under the direction of Reverend Oliver Allen in Norfolk Virginia and was not afraid to share her love of the Lord with others. Gail’s greatest pride was her family. She was married to David Maxson for a beautiful 35 years and together they born a child, Rosbert Maxson whom she was immensely proud of. In her youth she modeled and designed clothes for fashion shows in the Hampton Roads area. She enjoyed dancing, shopping, designing clothes and traveling on family vacations to exotic islands. Gail was a person who loved her morning walks and eating healthy foods. She was also the property manager for her many real estate properties in the Hampton Roads area.
Gail also enjoyed riding her motorcycle and started a motorcycle club called “Wonder Riders M/C”. She was a member of South Eastern Bikers Association and later South Eastern Bikers Association ll for many years. She was a member of the Road Jammers M/C. During her time as a biker, she was awarded the “Carol Davis” award, which is one of the highest awards you can receive in Biker World.
She enjoyed hosting family events for Christmas, Thanksgiving and Halloween. She loved her birds Marshall, Razz, Chu Chu and Flash. Her favorite singer was Ledisi and “Snoop”. Most importantly Gail was loved by many family members to include her three sisters, Debra Fairley, Pricilla Brown (Daniel Brown), Jane Harley (Ronald Harley) and one brother, Ronndale Cotton. She was also loved by her many nieces and nephews, Cassandra Bradford, Victoria Bradford, Milton Bradford, Famous Cotton, Donnie Fairly, Jr. (Kim Fairley), Michael Fairley (deceased), Valecia Vann Cotton-Jordan (Torrey Jordan), Camille Cotton, Adrienne Cotton- Stewart (Isaiah Stewart), Dominque Summons, Elise Brown, Ronndale Lee Cotton; great nieces and nephews, Elijah Stewart, Noah Stewart, Micah Stewart, Tabitha Fairley-Pollard (Akeem Pollard), Gabriel Fairley-Raines (Tyus Raines), Michaela Fairley-Luter (Darrell Luter), Zaadi Cotton, Zanea Cotton, Azalea Cotton, Zoey Cotton, Jordan Cherry, King Bradford, Messiah Bradford, Miya Bradford, Nylah Bradford, Mason Bradford, Aki Bradford, Justis Bradford, Amira Gill, Madison Gill, Ashaire Vann, Isaiah Jordan, Christion Jordan, Torrey Jordan Jr, Demetrious Jordan, Justin Jordan, Jeremiah Jordan, Josiah Jordan, V’shon Summons, Dalon Summons, Markel Summons and Elijah Summons, Tamir Cotton Wynn, Great great nieces and nephews, Marceline Vann, Jeremiah Vann, Marisol Jordan, Kyro Raines, Darrell Luter lll, Nevaeh Luter, Love -In- laws – Carolyn Steward, Greg Steward, KT Steward, Keith Freeman, Jed Freeman, Matt Freeman and Jessica Freeman
