George E. Worrell, 91, passed away peacefully at his home on April 19, 2016. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. George enjoyed photography and woodworking in his free time. He served in the US Merchant Marines during WWII. During his working career, George was a coal dump operator for the Norfolk and Western Railway and retired in 1986 after 39 years of loyal service. At the age of 64, he joined the Sea Lift Command aboard the HMNS Maury. George was preceded in death by his loving wife, Shirley M. Worrell; sister, Ola Mae W. Raintree; mother, Euna Belle Worrell; father, Walter R. Worrell and brothers, Graham Worrell, Joseph R. Worrell and Carlton S. Worrell.
Left to cherish his memory is his daughters, Melody L. Worrell and Brenda L. Livingston; son, Alvin W. Anderson and Bessie Mae Worrell, the beloved family grand-dog.
