Harold Dewayne Smith Jr.

Harold Dewayne Smith, Jr., 77, passed away on Friday, April 23, 2021 in Virginia Beach, VA. Harold was born in Ashville, NC to the late Harold and Edna Hensley Smith. Harold is also predeceased by his wife, Shirley Smith as well as his son, Gary McCallister. Harold retired from the US Navy as an E-8/Senior Chief Petty Officer after 20 years of service to his country. One of his notable memories in the US Navy were on the USS Forrestal. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was also a member of Virginia Heights Baptist Church. He is cherished in memory by his daughter, Sheryl Smith; stepchildren, Charles McCallister, Jeff McCallister, Donna Spangler and her husband, J.C.; grandchildren, Zachary, David, Shauna, Michelle and Tonya; great grandchildren, Alyssa and Joseph and siblings, Hilda Cronin and Kathy Smith.
