

Virginia Beach ~ Helen E. Woodhouse Tucker, 84, of the 1800 block of Camelot Drive went to be with the Lord on January 24, 2008. A native of Princess Anne County, she was the daughter of Mary Ann Woodhouse and Phillip Henry Woodhouse. Helen was a graduate of Creeds School in Princess Anne County and a member of Bayview Baptist Church in Norfolk. She retired from Civil Service and worked for the Social Security Administration. Helen was a very loving and devoted mother and grandmother, always caring for her family in every way. She had a zest for life, a joyful spirit and she loved the Lord. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and by her brother and sisters, Herbert Woodhouse of Seattle, WA, Dorothy Garrett of Norfolk, Margaret Robinson of Norfolk, and Evelyn Stewart of Virginia Beach. She leaves to cherish her memory four children, Sandra Smith of Chesapeake, Sybil Croft of Virginia Beach, Phyllis Beecher of Chesapeake, and Andrew Poole of Chesapeake; six grandchildren, Thomas Croft, Tracy Confer, Kimberly Shiflett, Jeremy Beecher, Heather Beecher, and Nicole Beecher; five great-grandchildren, Jamie Shiflett, Tamera Confer, Courtney Shiflett, Caleb Grimes, and Shelby Confer. A celebration of Helen's life will be held 1:00 p.m., Monday, January 28, 2008 in Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd., with Rev. Ernest Trueblood officiating. Entombment will follow at The Mausoleum of the Good Sheppard in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. A reception in the funeral home will be held after committal service.
