Isla Lea Bassett

Norfolk- Isla Lea Bassett, 75, passed away on Thursday at Sentara Leigh Hospital. She is predeceased by her husband Norman "Buddy" Bassett; and grandson Joseph A. Kroner. She is survived by her son, Jeffrey Filmore Bassett; daughters, Bonnie Ditto and her husband Rusty and Sherrie Kroner; sister, Claudia Nickerson; eight grandchildren David W. Newton, Candice L. Cobarrubia (JR), Russell L. Ditto III (Angie), Timothy F. Anderson (Melinda), Christopher P. Anderson (Jessica), Jeremiah W. Kroner, and Amy Bassett; thirteen great-grandchildren Gabrielle, Alyssa, David, Isla, Colin, Christopher, Joshua, Shelley, Chloe, Silas, Evelyn, Riley Jo, and Madison; and special friends Glenrock Gang, Betty G. Doumar, Alice Taplin, Kempsville Alumni, and Alicia Connelly. Isla retired from the City of Norfolk as an Admin Assistant. She was a member of the Kempsville Alumni and in her spare time she enjoyed spending time with her loving family.

The family will receive friends from 6pm-8pm Tuesday, December 20, in Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd., Norfolk. Graveside services will be conducted at 11am on Wednesday, December 21, 2011 in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
