J.C. Jarvis 90, died October 31, 2018 at his home in Norfolk. Born 1928 in New Bern, NC, he met his beloved wife Edna R. Jarvis while growing up in New Bern. J.C. enlisted in the Navy and served in WW II, Korea and Vietnam wars. After Retiring from the Navy in 1967 he founded the family business “Fabric Hut”. He is predeceased by his daughter June Jarvis Kirk who died in 2012. He is survived by his wife Edna R. Jarvis, his son Douglas A. Jarvis, his wife Gladys, his granddaughter Karen Kirk Nilan, her husband James and their children, his great grandchildren Gracie and William, several nieces and nephews. He had a special place in his heart for his care taker Chanta Rivers.
A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 6, 12:00 noon with a reception to follow at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd., Norfolk. Interment will be at Albert G. Horton Memorial Veterans Cemetery in Suffolk VA.
