James Milton Kemp

He was born on January 23, 1952 in Patchoque, New York to the late Harriet and Frank Kemp. He earned his both his Associates Degree in HVAC and Bachelor’s Degree of Science. He also served 20 years in the United States Navy, retiring in 2003 as a Hull Technician. Jim was awarded honors in Humanitarian Service, National Defense, and Good Conduct. He enjoyed NASCAR, coin collecting, and especially a good cup of coffee.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Carmencita Vicente Kemp; his three sons, Rayman Alcantara, Jesse Kemp and Carl Kemp; his three daughter-in-laws, Geraldine Alcantara, Cara Kemp and Jacquelynne Blazon; his five grandchildren, Jeremiah Quisol, Reanna May Alcantara, Hadley Kemp, Aubrey Kemp and Talyn Blazon; his two great grandchildren, Rylan Alcantara Edwards and Julian Quisol; his two sisters, Sharon Slechta and Sandra Doerler; his brother, John Kemp; his sister-in-law, Kathy Kemp; extended family, and friends.

The family will receive guests for visitation on Tuesday, December 10, 2019 from 6-8 pm at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 E Virginia Beach Blvd, Norfolk, VA 23502. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at 11 am, also at Woodlawn Funeral Home.
