James Arthur Pruitt

Norfolk- James “Arthur” Pruitt, 69, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 13, 2012. Arthur was born November 24, 1942 in Danville, Virginia. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Arthur is preceded in death by his wife Jane S. Pruitt. He is also preceded in death by his mother, Ida M. Walker, on January 28, 2012, and his father James O. Pruitt. Arthur is survived by his daughter Jamel P. Davenport and her husband David L. Davenport, Jr.; and his grandchildren David Lee Davenport, III; Zach T. Davenport; and Sarah J. Davenport. A celebration of life will be held at 7:00 pm, Friday, February 17, 2012 at Scuppernong Church of Christ, Creswell, NC. The family will receive friends and family starting at 6:00 pm. Memorial donations may be made to Mid-Atlantic Christian University, 715 Poindexter Street, Elizabeth City, North Carolina, 27909.
