Obituary of Jane V. Bischoff
Jane Veronica Ryan Bischoff passed into eternal life on Thurs., March 22, 2012 in Orlando, FL. She was born on July 15, 1924 in New York, NY and had lived in Carteret, NJ and Norfolk, VA. Most recently she made her home in Orlando, FL.,enjoying the world as it passed by her porch. She was a Veteran of WWII having served in the U.S. Navy. She was a member in good standing of the Waves National, The American Legion, and the Silver Salts. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Francis; her children, Francis Jr.'Chris', Jane McKay, Margaret Saccone, and George; grandchildren, Paul Bischoff, Marney McKay, Logan McKay, Lindsay Saccone, and Vincent Saccone; brothers, James Ryan (Goldie), Thomas Ryan, Robert Ryan (Joan), and Donald Ryan (Rose); sister-in-law, Bertha Ryan; and many nieces and nephews. Jane was predeceased by a daughter, Maureen Therese; a son, Robert Paul; her brothers, Edward, George and Richard; sisters, Margaret Mary and Isabelle; and special sisters-in-law, Mena and Vee. She loved to knit and crochet and gifted many friends and family members with afghans, lap robes, and baby layettes. Many were welcomed into her home and treated to a piece of her special lemon meringue pie. Jane was happy to have traveled the world making trips to Europe, Alaska, the Panama Canal and, her favorite, Russia. The Gulfstream Harbor “Bingo Bunch” will miss her as will all those who came to call her friend. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Monday, March 26, 2012 at Smith & Williams Funeral Home, 818 Norview Ave., Norfolk, VA with a rosary service starting at 7:00 p.m. A service will be held at 9:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at the funeral home burial will follow at the Hampton National Cemetery with military honors. A future Memorial Mass and Celebration of Life will be held at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church in Orlando, FL.
