She is survived by her husband of 52 years, William Earl Dashiell; her 2 children, John Dashiell and Carie Slyter (and husband Rod); her 3 grandchildren, Amber, Madison, and Cameron; her 5 siblings, John, Linda, Lewis, Beverly, and Kathy.
Over the span of her life she worked in the restaurant industry, as a school bus driver, housekeeper, customer service representative in cellular communications, a receptionist at a hair salon, managed a family gym, and finally her favorite job for 17 years was in the garden department of Home Depot. Her hobbies included gardening, nature (she never met or saw an animal she didn’t love), reading romance and religious fiction, and most importantly connecting in person with the people she loved. She was known for her: beaming smile, contagious laugh, warm hugs, kindness, fairness, and for being a great listener. She will be deeply missed by all.
There will be a graveside service at 11am on Thursday, April 4th, 2024 at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens on Virginia Beach Blvd. This will immediately followed by a Celebration of Life at Hyatt Place Virginia Beach Town Center.
Should anyone desire, contributions may be sent to the Virginia Zoo in Norfolk in her name. Please send your fondest condolences to the Dashiell family on the funeral home website during this difficult time.
