Joanne Britt Whitney, 66, went home to be with her Shephard on February 7, 2021. Joanne was born July 23, 1954 in Norfolk, VA to the late Margaret Lucille "Moo" Britt and Arthur "Smokey" Britt. Joanne had an exceptionally passionate and thoughtful soul and was a loving and great friend to many. She was also a very artistic individual in both arts and crafts with the exceptional ability to share these gifts and bring joy and creativity to others around her. Joanne worked for 17 years at Sentara Bayside Hospital, then found her passion in the IT Department at the Christian Broadcasting Network.
Joanne is survived by a Grandson, Parker Levi McCullough; Daughter, Lauren Whitney; and soulmate and Husband, R Shaw "Bobby" Whitney, Jr.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at 4:00 P.M. at the South Norfolk Moose Lodge #464. 2000 Campostella Road, Chesapeake, VA 23324. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Southeastern VA Alzheimer's Chapter, www.alz.org/seva.
