John W. Hardee,

Norfolk John W. Hardee, Sr. 73 of the 5000 block of Chesapeake Blvd. passed away on May 7, 2009. He is predeceased by his parents John T. Hardee and Alma M. Hardee and a brother Edward Roger Hardee. Left to cherish his memories is his loving wife Celena A. Hardee; two daughters Barbara A. Blanchard (Joe) of Virginia Beach, Sheryl “Sissie” Alcorn (Al) of Ravenel, S.C.; two sons John William “Billy” Hardee, Jr. (Sharon) of Virginia Beach and Michael Lee Hardee (Kim) of Edgefield, S.C. He is also survived by two sisters June Ray Sumrell of Norfolk, Betty Lee Myers (Bruce) of Chesapeake; two brothers Robert T. Hardee (Brenda), and Don W. Hardee (Lori) both of Norfolk, 13 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, many other relatives and friends. The family is grateful to the physicians, nurses and staff of Sentara Norfolk General Hospital’s Emergency Room, Intensive Care Unit and Palliative Care Team for the kindess and care Dad received over the final days of his life.
