John “Buddy” Johnson, Jr., 80, passed away peacefully on April 6, 2016. He was an active member of both the Calvary Baptist Church and the Scottish Rite Masons. Buddy worked for Snow Jr. and King Masonry for 40 years as a Master Brick Mason. He was a wonderful father, husband and “Pop Pop” and will be missed by many.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 58 years, Nancy L. Johnson; sons, John Norman Johnson III, Jeffrey W. Johnson, Sr. and Mark J. Johnson; daughter, Nancy R. Garton; brothers, Gary and Russell; sisters, Katie and Ruthie; grandchildren, Jeffrey Jr., Jay, Chris, Kyle, Joey, Russell, Ryan, Brittany, and Trevor and 8 great-grandsons. He is predeceased by his brothers, Dickie and Raymond and sister Helen.
The visitation will be on Sunday, April 10 from 5-7 at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 E. Va. Beach Blvd. in Norfolk. The funeral service will be at Calvary Baptist Church, 4832 Haygood Rd. in VA Beach on Monday, April 11 at 11 am with burial to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
