Joselito R. Ubial, Jr. “Joe” was taken from us too soon on December 20, 2014. He was the loving husband to his wife, Caroline and a wonderful father to his daughter and joy, Cara Joelle. Joe was born in Portsmouth, VA and was the first born son to Joselito and Lodivina, who cherished him dearly. As the eldest brother to Kenneth and Patrick, Joe always provided love, leadership, lessons, and laughter. Joe was a true “VB Native” with his passions for surfing, skateboarding, snowboarding and music. Joe's martial arts journey led to the attainment of a Tae Kwon Do black belt, apprenticeship in filipino martial arts , and to a rewarding job of instructing self-defense courses. Joe was a graduate of Indian River High School and attended Old Dominion University. Above all else, family and friends came first with Joe. Always with a gentle and generous heart, Joe had ready smile and welcomed every person with a hug or handshake. The consummate “big brother”, Joe would offer the following timeless advice: “Keep it Simple”, “Prepare to Block”, and “Charge It”. Along with his loving wife and cherished daughter, Joe is survived by his parents Joselito and Lodivina, brother Ken and wife Maricel, nephews Christian and Noah, brother Pat, parents-in-law, Dave and Cora Delacruz, sister-in-law, Darlene Moran, husband Mark, niece Olivia, nephew, Lucas, sister-in-law, Grace Pabustan and husband Leonard. Joe's memory will be honored by many other family members and friends.
