Virginia Beach- Josephine I. Whitmire passed away December 20, 2011. Born in Auburn New York she later served in the U.S. Navy for four years receiving the National Defense Service and Good Conduct Medal. Josephine is survived by her sons; Michael Whitmire, and Van Whitmire (Erica). Two daughters; Vanessa Fentress and JoAnna Bryant (Nick). Grandchildren; Michael Whitmire, Shane Whitmire, Rodney Fentress, Austin Bryant, Nicholas Bryant, Brandon Whitmire and Dylan Whitmire. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at 11:00 am with a visitation 1 hour prior in Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd., Norfolk, Va. 23502. Following the service she will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband in the Woodlawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Condolences may be offered to the family online at Woodlawngroup.com.
