Joyce Taylor Manby

Joyce Taylor Manby went home to be with the Lord on Sunday February 25th 2018. Joyce was a very active member of the Good Samaritan Episcopal Church, where she served for many years on the church vestry. Joyce was an alumni of Norview High School. She studied human resources and received a certificate for Human Resources Management from Old Dominion University. She is retired from the Norfolk Department of Public Health as the Human Resources Manager. Joyce served for many years on the board of the Norfolk Fire Department Credit Union.

Joyce leaves behind her loving husband of 59 years, Alvah S. Manby, Jr; daughter; Sharon Bilsborough (Jim) two sisters; Jeannette Foist and Linda Carawan (Marvin), granddaughters; Stephanie Finch and her father, Walter “Tommy” Finch, and Steph Curtis (Stephen), nieces and nephews; Shannon Carawan, John Foist Jr. (Lori), and Marvin “Bubba” L. Carawan, Jr.

Joyce’s visitation is Thursday March 1st from 5 to 7 p.m. at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd, Norfolk, VA. and the funeral service will be Friday March 2nd at noon at the funeral home. Please visit www.woodlawngroup.com to share a memory with the family.
