Kathleen Mary Norman

Kathleen Mary Norman, 77, better known as Kate, passed away on Friday, December 19, 2014 in Norfolk, VA. Kate was a warm, devoted woman treasured by family and friends. Born in Queens, New York, she was the daughter of the late William James Travers and the late Mary Katherine Kennedy Travers. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Richard Norman, a sister, Maryjean Norman, a brother, Robert Travers, and a daughter, Mary Kathleen Rabbito.

Kate taught science at various high schools in Queens and Long Island, NY. She was a talented artist whose paintings will continue to be cherished by loved ones. She was a parishioner at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church in Virginia Beach and an active member of Elizabeth Park’s Garden Club.

Kate is survived by daughters Nancy Olivo (Terry) of Norfolk, VA, Patricia Paez (Harold) of Connecticut, Joanne Stock (Doug) of Virginia Beach, and son-in-law Frank Rabbito of Florida; grandchildren Jeffrey Rabbito, Michael and Ryan Olivo, Elizabeth, Richard and Nicholas Paez, and Erik, Sydni, Christian, and Paige Stock.

The family welcomes visitors on Monday, December 22 from 4:00pm-7:00pm at Woodlawn Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, December 23 at 12:00pm at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church in Virginia Beach, VA. Interment to follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Norfolk, VA at 2:00pm.
